Candidates should note the two different cut-off dates carefully. The age limit will be counted as per the original cut-off date of 30 November 2025, while the educational qualification cut-off has been updated to 30 June 2026.

The most important change in the latest update is the increase in vacancies. Earlier, GSSSB had notified 426 posts. After Correction Advertisement-2, the total number of vacancies has increased to 776.

The vacancy increase is only for Sub Accountant/Sub Auditor posts, which have gone up from 321 to 671. The number of Accountant/Auditor/Sub Treasury Officer/Inspector posts remains unchanged at 105.
Eligibility Criteria
For GSSSB Recruitment 2026, candidates must have a relevant bachelor’s degree from a recognised university or institution. Eligible degrees include BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc. in Mathematics or Statistics, and BA in Statistics, Economics or Mathematics.
Candidates must also have basic computer knowledge as required under the Gujarat government rules. Adequate knowledge of Gujarati and Hindi is also required for these Class-3 posts.
The original notification clearly states that candidates with B.Sc. CA & IT and M.Sc. CA & IT degrees are not considered eligible for this recruitment.
Age Limit
The age limit for GSSSB Accountant Recruitment 2026 and GSSSB Sub Auditor Recruitment 2026 is 20 to 35 years. The age will be calculated as on 30 November 2025.
Age relaxation will apply to women candidates, reserved category candidates, persons with disabilities and ex-servicemen as per the Gujarat government rules. In eligible cases, the maximum age limit may extend up to 40 years or 45 years, depending on the category and applicable relaxation.
Salary Details
For Sub Accountant/Sub Auditor, Class-3, selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹26,000 for the first five years. After regular appointment, the pay scale will be ₹25,500–₹81,100, Level-4.
For Accountant, Auditor/Sub Treasury Officer/Inspector, Class-3, selected candidates will receive a fixed monthly salary of ₹49,600 for the first five years. After regular appointment, the pay scale will be ₹39,900–₹1,26,600, Level-7.
Application Fee
The application fee has to be paid online only. For the preliminary examination, the fee is ₹500 for unreserved candidates and ₹400 for reserved category candidates, including women, SEBC, SC, ST, EWS, PwD and ex-servicemen candidates.
For the main examination, the fee is ₹600 for unreserved candidates and ₹500 for reserved category candidates. As per the original notification, the examination fee is refundable to candidates who appear in the examination.

GSSSB Sub Accountant/ Sub Auditor Selection Process
The GSSSB selection process 2026 will be completed through three stages. The first stage will be the preliminary examination, which will be objective in nature and may be conducted through CBRT or OMR mode.
Candidates who qualify in the preliminary examination will be shortlisted for the main examination. The main examination will be descriptive in nature. After the written stages, shortlisted candidates will be called for document verification.
