The RRB Station Master Recruitment 2026 online application process has started under Centralised Employment Notice (CEN) No. 08/2026. Railway Recruitment Boards are recruiting graduates for Station Master posts across different Zonal Railways, with the post carrying Pay Level 6 and an initial basic pay of ₹35,400 per month.

Online applications opened on October 27, 2026 and will remain available until November 25, 2026 at 11:59 PM. Candidates can pay the examination fee until November 27, while the application modification window will remain open from November 28 to December 7, 2026.

Candidates should note an important discrepancy in the detailed notification. The vacancy summary mentions 1,215 Station Master vacancies, while the detailed RRB-wise vacancy table in Annexure-B adds up to 1,265 posts. Until Railway Recruitment Boards issue a clarification or corrigendum, applicants should check the vacancies shown for their chosen RRB in Annexure-B while treating 1,215 as the figure stated in the notification summary.

Why Do Vacancy Figures Show 1,215 and 1,265?

Candidates are likely to see both figures online.

The detailed CEN currently shows:

  • 1,215 vacancies in the main summary
  • 1,265 vacancies when the RRB-wise Annexure-B table is totalled

The Annexure-B category totals themselves add up consistently to 1,265.

Because the detailed notification does not explain the difference, candidates should avoid treating either figure as a silently corrected total. The recruitment article should retain this distinction until RRB publishes a clarification.

Vacancies are also provisional and may increase, decrease or become nil depending on Railway requirements.

Applicants should check the A-2 medical standard before applying because the Station Master has strict eyesight requirements.

Preparation should follow the new single-stage CBT pattern, which differs significantly from the earlier NTPC recruitment structure.
