The UPSSSC Vacancy 2026 notification has announced 1,829 posts in multiple departments. These posts include Assistant Accountant and Auditor positions in departments such as the Internal Audit and Accounts Examination Directorate, local bodies, housing and development bodies, forest corporation, construction corporations, universities, technical institutes and other government organisations.
A major portion of the vacancies is for Assistant Accountant, while several posts are also available for Auditor / लेखा परीक्षक. Reservation will be applicable as per Uttar Pradesh government rules.

Who Can Apply for UPSSSC Auditor Recruitment 2026?
Only those candidates can apply for UPSSSC Auditor Recruitment 2026 and UPSSSC Assistant Accountant Recruitment 2026 who have appeared in Preliminary Eligibility Test 2025, commonly known as UPSSSC PET 2025, and have been issued a valid scorecard by the commission.
Candidates who have obtained zero or negative marks in the absolute score or normalised score of PET 2025 will not be shortlisted for the main examination. The final shortlisting for the main exam will be based on the PET 2025 normalised score.
The commission has also clarified that candidates whose PET 2025 results are provisional or under investigation may be allowed provisionally, but their candidature will remain subject to the final decision of the commission.
Educational Qualification
For most Assistant Accountant posts, candidates are required to have a commerce degree from a recognised university or a postgraduate diploma in accountancy from a recognised institution. Knowledge of computer operation, generally through an “O” Level qualification or equivalent requirement, is also mentioned for several departments.
For Auditor posts, the qualification varies department-wise. However, commerce, accountancy-related academic background and computer knowledge are important eligibility components in the notification.

Age Limit

The main examination fee will be paid separately only by candidates shortlisted for the main exam. This fee will have to be paid before downloading the main exam admit card.
Selection Process
The selection for UPSSSC Auditor Assistant Accountant Main Exam 2026 will be based on the written examination conducted by the commission. Candidates will first be shortlisted on the basis of their UPSSSC PET 2025 score.
The main examination will carry 100 questions for 100 marks. The duration of the exam will be 120 minutes. There will also be negative marking, with 25% of the marks assigned to the question deducted for each wrong answer.
The paper will include questions from audit, final accounts, accounting fundamentals, double-entry system, bank reconciliation, RTGS, e-banking, budget control, advance accountancy, taxation, computer and IT concepts, and general information related to Uttar Pradesh.
