Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission has detailed the exam structure for the Jharkhand Technical/Special Graduate Level Combined Competitive Examination 2026. The exam may be conducted through OMR or CBT mode. If the exam is held in multiple groups, normalisation will be applied.
The selection process may include a Preliminary Exam and Main Exam. However, the preliminary exam may not be conducted if the number of candidates is below 50,000. JSSC may also decide to conduct the Main Exam directly depending on administrative conditions.
Each question will be objective and multiple-choice based. Every correct answer will carry 3 marks, while 1 mark will be deducted for every wrong answer.

JSSC JTGLCCE Preliminary Exam Pattern 2026
The preliminary exam will be of 2 hours and will include 120 questions from General Knowledge-based subjects.

JSSC JTGLCCE Main Exam Pattern 2026
The Main Exam will have three papers and will be conducted in three shifts. Paper 1 and Paper 2 will be qualifying in nature, while merit will be prepared on the basis of Paper 2 and Paper 3 marks, subject to qualifying conditions.

Paper 1 Syllabus: Language Knowledge
Paper 1 will include Hindi and English language knowledge. Hindi will have 60 questions, including 30 questions from Hindi unseen passage and 30 from Hindi grammar. English will also have 60 questions, including 30 from unseen passage and 30 from grammar.
Candidates must score 30% marks in Paper 1. These marks will not be counted for final merit.
Paper 2 Syllabus: Tribal and Regional Language
Candidates can choose one language from Hindi, English, Urdu, Santhali, Bengali, Mundari, Ho, Kharia, Kurukh, Kurmali, Khortha, Nagpuri, Panchpargania, Odia and Sanskrit.
Paper 2 will have 100 multiple-choice questions. Candidates must score at least 30% marks in this paper. If a candidate fails to qualify Paper 2, Paper 3 will not be evaluated.
Paper 3 Syllabus: Technical Subject and General Knowledge
Paper 3 will carry 150 questions. Out of these, 100 questions will be from the technical or special subject, 20 from General Studies, 20 from General Mathematics and 10 from General Science.
For the technical/special subject section, candidates must score at least 30% marks. The technical syllabus will depend on the post applied for. The brochure includes separate technical syllabus sections for posts such as Block Statistical Supervisor/Junior Statistical Assistant/Investigator, Dairy Technical Officer, Auditor, Junior Scientific Assistant, Laboratory Assistant Physics and Laboratory Assistant Chemistry. For some posts, including Assistant Entomologist, Assistant Vector Borne Disease Control Officer, Inspector under Vector Borne Disease Control Programme and Fisheries Extension Supervisor, the technical syllabus will be published separately.
Final Merit List
The final merit list will be prepared by adding marks obtained in Paper 2 and Paper 3, after applying the qualifying rules. Paper 1 is only qualifying. Minimum qualifying marks for merit list inclusion are 40% for Unreserved/EWS, 32% for SC/ST and women, 34% for EBC-I, 36.5% for BC-II and 30% for Primitive Tribe candidates.
