The recruitment will be held through the Combined Technical Services Recruitment Examination 2026. The largest vacancy share is for Junior Engineer Civil posts, especially under the Panchayati Raj & Drinking Water Department.

Eligibility Criteria
Candidates must be Indian citizens and must meet the age, educational and Odia language requirements mentioned in the official advertisement.
The minimum age is 21 years and the maximum age is 42 years as on January 1, 2026. Reserved category candidates will get age relaxation as per the Odisha government rules.
For Junior Engineer Civil posts, candidates must have a Diploma in Civil Engineering or an equivalent qualification from a recognised institution. For an Architectural Assistant, a Diploma in Architectural Assistantship is required.
For Cameraman, Photographer, Sound Recordist, Mechanic and Video Film Editor posts, the required qualification varies according to the technical nature of the post. Candidates must check the post-wise eligibility before applying.
Application Fee
The application fee is ₹500 for candidates other than SC, ST and PwD categories.
SC, ST and PwD candidates are exempted from payment of the examination fee. The notification also states that the fee will be refunded to candidates who actually appear in the recruitment examination.
Selection Process
The OSSC CTSRE selection process will be conducted in three stages. The examination may be held through CBRE or OMR mode.
The recruitment stages are:
- Preliminary Examination
- Main Written Examination
- Certificate Verification
The preliminary examination will carry 150 marks and will be held for 150 minutes. It will include arithmetic, data interpretation, reasoning, analytical ability, current events and computer/internet awareness.
The main written examination will be a technical paper of 200 marks. It will be based on the post or service selected by the candidate. The final merit list will be prepared mainly on the basis of Main Written Examination marks and post preference.

Documents Required
Shortlisted candidates will have to produce original documents during certificate verification. Candidates applying for technical posts must also keep their diploma, degree, NTC, AutoCAD, computer skill or trade-specific certificates ready, wherever applicable.
