The Odisha Staff Selection Commission has issued the detailed advertisement for the OSSC CGL Recruitment 2026 for Group-B and Group-C Specialist posts under different departments and Heads of Department of the Government of Odisha.

As per the official notification, the recruitment will be conducted through the Combined Graduate Level Recruitment Examination for Group-B and Group-C Specialist Posts/Services 2026, also referred to as OSSC CGLRE Specialist 2026. A total of 199 vacancies have been notified.

Candidates should note that eligibility, educational qualification and technical requirements vary by post. The Commission has clearly stated that a candidate may apply for only one post carrying the same pay level, but may give options for multiple posts/service choices if eligible.

OSSC CGL Eligibility Criteria 2026

For OSSC CGL Recruitment 2026, candidates must be Indian citizens and must satisfy the language, age and educational qualification conditions prescribed in the official advertisement.

The minimum age is 21 years, while the maximum age is 42 years as on January 1, 2026. Relaxation in the upper age limit is applicable for reserved category candidates, women, PwD, ex-servicemen and other eligible categories as per government rules.

Applicants must also have knowledge of Odia language. They should have passed Odia as a language subject in school or should meet any other equivalent Odia language condition mentioned in the notification.

Educational qualifications differ from post to post. For example, Food Safety Officer requires a relevant degree in food technology, dairy technology, biotechnology, agriculture science, veterinary science, chemistry, medicine or allied disciplines. Other posts require qualifications in economics, commerce, science, engineering, library science, statistics, humanities, computer applications or relevant technical fields, depending on the post.

OSSC CGL Selection Process 2026

The OSSC CGL selection process will be conducted in multiple stages. The Preliminary Examination will be common in nature and will be used for shortlisting candidates for the Main Written Examination.

The Preliminary Examination will be conducted in CBRE/OMR mode. It will have 150 questions for 150 marks, with a duration of 150 minutes. There will be negative marking of 0.25 mark for each wrong answer.

The Main Written Examination will be a technical paper. It will carry 200 marks with 100 questions, and candidates will get 150 minutes to complete the paper. The negative marking in the main paper will be 0.5 mark for each wrong answer.

For some posts, a Computer Skill Test will also be conducted. This test will be qualifying in nature, and candidates will be required to secure the minimum qualifying marks prescribed by the Commission. The final stage will be Certificate Verification, where candidates will have to produce original documents supporting their age, category, educational qualification, reservation claim and other eligibility details.
