Who Can Apply

The notification is open to unmarried Indian male and female candidates.

Candidates must be born between July 1, 2005 and January 1, 2010, both dates inclusive. However, even after clearing all stages, the candidate must not be above 22 years of age on the date of enrolment.

A key condition is that candidates enrolled as Agniveervayu must remain unmarried during the four-year engagement period. Female candidates must also undertake not to become pregnant during this period.

Educational Qualification

The eligibility has been divided into Science Subjects and Other than Science Subjects.

Science Subjects

Candidates are eligible if they have passed Intermediate, 10+2, or equivalent with Mathematics, Physics and English, securing at least 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Candidates with a three-year diploma in Engineering in approved streams such as Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Automobile, Computer Science, Instrumentation Technology or Information Technology can also apply, provided they have 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.

Those who have completed a two-year vocational course with Physics and Mathematics as non-vocational subjects are also eligible, again subject to 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English.

Other than Science Subjects

Candidates who have passed Intermediate, 10+2 or equivalent in any stream with at least 50% aggregate marks and 50% marks in English can apply.

Those who have completed a two-year vocational course with minimum 50% aggregate marks and 50% in English are also eligible.

Important Qualification Rule

Candidates eligible for Science Subjects are also eligible to choose Other than Science Subjects, or both, at the time of registration.

One important technical point is that marks will not be rounded off. For example, 49.99% will be treated as 49%, not 50%.

Domicile Rule

The domicile declaration is a major part of this recruitment. Candidates must choose their domicile category during registration, and this choice cannot be changed later.
