UK Nursing Officer Vacancy Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for the Uttarakhand Nursing Officer Recruitment 2026 must have a recognised nursing qualification. Eligible qualifications include B.Sc Nursing Honours, regular B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, or General Nursing and Midwifery/Psychiatry diploma from an institute or university recognised by the Indian Nursing Council.

Applicants must also hold valid registration as B.Sc Nursing, Post Basic B.Sc Nursing, GNM, or Psychiatry Nursing candidates with the Uttarakhand Nurses and Midwives Council or the relevant nursing council. The notification also states that working knowledge of Hindi is required.

A valid or renewed registration certificate from the Uttarakhand Nurses and Midwives Council must be available by the last date of online application. A registration application receipt or NUID card will not be treated as a valid substitute.

Age Limit

The age will be calculated as on July 1, 2025. Candidates must be at least 21 years old and must not be more than 42 years old on the cut-off date.

Age relaxation will apply as per the Uttarakhand government rules. The notification mentions 5 years of relaxation for Uttarakhand SC, ST and OBC candidates, and 10 years for eligible Uttarakhand PwD candidates.

Selection Process and Exam Pattern

The selection will be based on a written examination. The exam will carry 200 marks and the duration will be 3 hours. The paper will include a nursing subject section of 100 marks and another section of 100 marks covering General Hindi, General Knowledge and General Studies.

For diploma-holder candidates, the nursing section will cover subjects such as Nursing Foundation, Medical Surgical Nursing, Psychology, Nutrition and Dietetics, Maternal Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Mental Health Nursing.

For degree-holder candidates, the paper will include Nursing Foundation, Nursing Education, Nursing Administration, Nursing Research and Statistics, Medical Surgical Nursing, Nutrition and Dietetics, Mental Health Nursing, Child Health Nursing, Community Health Nursing and Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

There will be negative marking. For each wrong answer, one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted. No negative marks will be given for unanswered questions.
