The Andhra Pradesh School Education Department has officially released the APTET June 2026 Notification for candidates aspiring to become teachers in government, aided, unaided, residential, welfare, municipal, and model schools across the state. The Andhra Pradesh Teacher Eligibility Test (APTET) 2026 will be conducted in Computer-Based Test (CBT) mode from August 5 to August 21, 2026.

Candidates can submit their online applications from June 5 to July 5, 2026. The Teacher Eligibility Test remains a mandatory qualification for teaching positions from Classes 1 to 8 under the provisions of the Right to Education (RTE) Act and National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) guidelines.

Who Can Apply for APTET 2026?

The examination is open to candidates seeking teaching positions for Classes I to VIII in Andhra Pradesh schools.

Candidates possessing D.El.Ed, D.Ed, B.Ed, Special Education qualifications, or equivalent teacher education courses recognised by NCTE or RCI are eligible. Those pursuing the final semester of these courses may also apply, subject to the conditions mentioned in the notification.

The notification also allows candidates who have already qualified APTET and wish to improve their scores to appear again.

APTET June 2026 Eligibility Criteria

Candidates applying for APTET June 2026 must possess the minimum educational qualifications prescribed by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE) and the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI). Candidates pursuing the final semester of eligible teacher education courses are also permitted to appear in the examination.

Paper 1A (Classes I to V)

Candidates should have passed Intermediate (or equivalent) along with D.El.Ed, D.Ed, or equivalent teacher education qualification recognised by NCTE.

Candidates pursuing the final semester of D.El.Ed or equivalent courses are also eligible to apply.

Paper 1B (Special Schools)

Candidates should possess Special Education qualifications recognised by the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI).

Those pursuing the final semester of D.Ed Special Education or equivalent courses can also appear.

Paper 2A (Classes VI to VIII)

Candidates should possess a Bachelor’s Degree along with B.Ed or equivalent teacher training qualification recognised by NCTE.

Final-semester B.Ed candidates are also eligible to take the examination.

Paper 2B (Special Schools)

Candidates must hold Graduation along with B.Ed Special Education or equivalent qualification recognised by RCI.

Candidates studying in the final semester of the course may also apply.

APTET 2026 Application Fee

The examination fee has been fixed at ₹1,000 per paper.

Candidates applying for more than one paper must pay the fee separately for each paper. For example, a candidate applying for Paper 1A and Paper 2A must pay ₹2,000.

Applications can be submitted online through the official portal between June 5 and July 5, 2026.

How to Apply for APTET June 2026

Candidates can submit their applications online through the official APTET portal from June 5 to July 5, 2026.

  2. Pay the examination fee of ₹1,000 for each paper through the online payment gateway.
  3. Complete the online application form with personal, educational and communication details.
  4. Select the preferred examination district from the available options.
  5. Verify all entered information carefully before final submission.
  6. Submit the application and download the confirmation page for future reference.

Important: The department has clearly stated that no editing facility will be available after final submission. Candidates who wish to make corrections must submit a fresh application with a new fee payment before the closing date.

Once an application is submitted, editing or modification will not be permitted. If a candidate wishes to make changes, a fresh application along with a new fee payment will be required within the application window.

Examination centres will be allotted based on availability and administrative requirements. Requests for centre changes will not be entertained.

APTET 2026 Pass Marks

The qualifying marks vary according to category.

The examination carries a total of 150 marks.

Lifetime Validity of APTET Certificate

One of the major highlights of the notification is that the APTET certificate continues to remain valid for life, as per NCTE guidelines and Andhra Pradesh Government orders.

Candidates can appear any number of times to improve their scores, and there is no restriction on attempts.
